'Jurassic World' May Hit $1 Billion On Second Weekend

"Last weekend, Jurassic World led the dinosaurs out of franchise extinction and into the record books with a $208.8 million domestic opening weekend, $315 million foreign opening, and total $524 million worldwide first weekend. Every one of those numbers is a historic first. Then came the Monday after, bringing a shocking $25 million in North American theatrical receipts, followed by an equally surprisingly big $24 million Tuesday. Now, everyone’s eyes are already turning to next weekend as we wonder how much more of the box office record book Jurassic World can chew to pieces. As the predictions roll in and we consider where the possible figures will fall, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that we may see something incredible happening this weekend — Jurassic World just might hit $1 billion on only its second weekend of release."
